Rotational frictional coefficient

Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-010427

A measure of the resistance encountered by a molecule or molecular segment as it undergoes rotational motion in a fluid medium. This coefficient is directly proportional to the viscosity of the medium and the effective hydrodynamic volume of the rotating entity. It is used in theories describing the rotational diffusion of macromolecules.
