Secondary relaxation
Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-010628
A molecular motion in polymers that occurs at temperatures below the glass transition temperature, involving localized movements of small segments of the polymer chain. These relaxations are typically associated with side-group rotations or crankshaft motions of the main chain. They are observed as peaks in the mechanical or dielectric loss spectra.
