Beta relaxation peak

Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-001201

A distinct maximum observed in the mechanical or dielectric loss curve of an amorphous polymer, occurring at temperatures below the glass transition temperature. This peak corresponds to the beta relaxation, which is attributed to localized molecular motions within the polymer structure. Its position and intensity provide insights into the polymer's molecular mobility.
