Gamma relaxation peak

Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-004750

A peak observed in the mechanical or dielectric loss curve of a polymer, corresponding to the gamma relaxation process. This peak indicates a maximum in energy dissipation due to localized molecular motions below the glass transition temperature. Its position and intensity are dependent on temperature and frequency.
