Solar conversion efficiency
Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-010977
The ratio of the electrical power or chemical energy produced by a solar energy conversion device to the incident solar power. This metric quantifies how effectively a device, such as a photovoltaic cell or a photoelectrochemical cell, converts sunlight into a usable form of energy. It is typically expressed as a percentage and depends on factors like the material properties and operating conditions of the device.
