Sonosol

Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-011055

A colloidal suspension (sol) prepared or modified through the application of ultrasound (sonication). The acoustic energy can induce cavitation, leading to particle dispersion, deagglomeration, or the initiation of chemical reactions that form colloidal particles. This technique is used to produce stable sols with fine and uniform particle sizes.
