Species evenness

Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-013578

A measure of the relative abundance of different species within a community. High evenness indicates that all species present have similar population sizes, while low evenness suggests that a few species dominate. This metric is a component of biodiversity, often used in conjunction with species richness to characterize ecological communities.
