Splenocyte

Any mononuclear cell derived from the spleen, including lymphocytes (T cells and B cells) and macrophages. These cells are isolated from splenic tissue for use in immunological research and assays. Splenocytes are frequently used in vitro to study immune responses, such as cell proliferation and cytokine production, following exposure to an antigen or mitogen.
