Sticking probability
Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-011413
The likelihood that a molecule striking a surface will remain adsorbed to it, rather than desorbing or scattering away. This dimensionless quantity is influenced by the kinetic energy of the incident molecule and the interaction potential between the molecule and the surface. It is often used interchangeably with sticking coefficient.
