Stratopause
Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-011462
The boundary layer in the Earth's atmosphere between the stratosphere and the mesosphere, marking the level where temperature reaches its maximum within the stratosphere. This region is characterized by a temperature inversion, where temperatures cease to increase with altitude and begin to decrease. The stratopause is typically located at an altitude of about 50 kilometers.
