Target validation
Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-011821
The process of confirming that a specific molecular target is involved in a disease process and that modulating its activity will produce a desired therapeutic effect. This involves demonstrating a causal link between the target and the disease phenotype. It is a key step in drug discovery to reduce the risk of late-stage clinical trial failures.
