Thermomechanical measurement
Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-011978
A thermal analysis method that records how a sample deforms under a steady, non-oscillating load while its temperature follows a controlled program. The load may be compressive, tensile, flexural or torsional, and the curve reveals expansion, softening, glass transition and melting. Applying an oscillating load instead gives dynamic thermomechanometry.
