Torsional braid analysis
Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-012126
A thermomechanical technique used to characterize the viscoelastic properties of materials, particularly polymers, as a function of temperature or time. A sample, often in the form of a braid, is impregnated with the material and subjected to torsional oscillations. The damping and period of these oscillations are measured to determine transitions such as glass transition temperatures.
