Torsional pendulum analysis

Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-012127

A method for characterizing the viscoelastic properties of materials by measuring the response of a sample to an applied torsional deformation. The sample is typically subjected to free oscillations, and the decay of these oscillations is analyzed to determine the storage modulus and loss modulus. The logarithmic decrement is a key parameter derived from this analysis.
