Tinnitus

The perception of sound in one or both ears or in the head when no external sound is present. This phantom sound can manifest as ringing, buzzing, hissing, or roaring. Tinnitus is a symptom rather than a disease and can be caused by noise exposure, ear injuries, or certain medical conditions.
