Ringing gel

Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-010362

A type of gel that exhibits a characteristic oscillatory or 'ringing' behavior when subjected to mechanical perturbation, such as tapping. This phenomenon is due to the elastic properties of the gel network, which allows it to store and release mechanical energy. The ringing effect is often observed in highly elastic and coherent gel structures.
