Transflectance

Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-012214

The measured quantity in a transflection experiment, equal to the spectral intensity of the beam that has passed through the sample, reflected from a mirror or diffuse reflector behind it and passed through again, divided by the spectral intensity of the incident beam. It names the intensity ratio, whereas transflection names the measurement geometry. The optical path through the sample is about twice its thickness.
