Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-012215

A spectroscopic technique where light passes through a sample, reflects off a surface, and then passes back through the sample before being detected. This method effectively doubles the optical path length through the sample, enhancing absorption signals. It is commonly employed in Fourier transform infrared (FTIR) spectroscopy for analyzing thin films or coatings on reflective substrates.
