Trophic transfer
Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-012318
The movement of substances, such as energy, nutrients, or contaminants, from one trophic level to the next within a food web. This process occurs when an organism consumes another organism from a lower trophic level. The efficiency of this transfer varies depending on the substance and the organisms involved.
