Type B organism

An aquatic organism that lives within the sediment or is closely associated with it, often burrowing or residing in interstitial spaces. These organisms are primarily exposed to contaminants bound to sediment particles or present in the pore water. Benthic invertebrates like worms and some crustaceans are common examples of type B organisms.
