Vibrational potential energy
Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-012565
The energy stored in the bonds of a molecule due to the displacement of atoms from their equilibrium positions during vibration. This energy is related to the restoring forces that pull the atoms back towards their equilibrium. It is a key component in understanding molecular dynamics and spectroscopic transitions.
