Bias

A systematic error in a measurement or observation that causes results to deviate consistently in one direction from the true value. This deviation can stem from instrument calibration issues, environmental factors, or inherent flaws in the measurement method. It differs from random error, which causes unpredictable fluctuations around the true value.
