Bias
Term · Oil and gas · MLC-T-OAG-000330
A systematic error in a measurement or estimation that causes results to deviate consistently from the true value. In seismic data processing, bias can arise from instrument calibration issues, environmental factors, or incorrect assumptions in algorithms. It can be corrected through careful calibration, statistical methods, or by comparing results with known ground truth.
