Crossband

A layer of veneer or plywood placed with its grain perpendicular to the grain of adjacent layers in a laminated panel. This orientation enhances the dimensional stability and strength of the composite material, reducing warping and splitting. Crossbanding is a common technique in the manufacture of plywood and veneered furniture panels.
