Electrochemical series

Term · Industrial and trades · MLC-T-IND-002003

A list of chemical elements or species arranged in order of their standard electrode potentials, indicating their relative tendencies to gain or lose electrons. This series predicts the spontaneity of redox reactions and the direction of electron flow in an electrochemical cell. Elements higher in the series are stronger reducing agents, while those lower are stronger oxidizing agents.
