Gunner

An operator of a refractory gunning machine, responsible for applying monolithic refractory materials onto the interior surfaces of furnaces, ladles, and other high-temperature vessels. The process, called gunning, uses a high-pressure hose to spray a wet or dry mixture of refractory aggregate and binder. The gunner controls the nozzle to build up a lining of a specified thickness, repairing worn areas or creating a new protective layer against extreme heat and chemical attack.
