Jet
Term · Industrial and trades · MLC-T-IND-003118
The microscopic nozzle or orifice in an inkjet printhead through which a precise droplet of ink is ejected onto the substrate. A single printhead contains a dense array of these jets, each controlled electronically to fire or not fire, forming the printed image dot by dot. The diameter of a typical jet is in the range of 10 to 50 micrometers, influencing the resolution and drop size of the printer.
