Resettable fuse

Term · Industrial and trades · MLC-T-IND-004797

A polymeric positive temperature coefficient (PPTC) device that protects an electrical circuit from overcurrent conditions. It exhibits a low resistance during normal operation but rapidly increases its resistance to a very high level when excessive current causes it to heat up, interrupting the circuit. After the fault is cleared and the device cools, it returns to its low-resistance state, restoring circuit operation without needing replacement.
