A provision in a contract, will, or other legal instrument that creates, modifies, or extinguishes a legal obligation or right upon the occurrence or non-occurrence of a specified event. Failure to satisfy a condition can result in the termination of a contract or the forfeiture of a right. Conditions can be express or implied.
