Conscious parallelism

A situation where competing firms independently adopt similar business practices or pricing strategies without explicit agreement or collusion. While not illegal in itself, it can be evidence of an unlawful conspiracy if accompanied by other factors suggesting an agreement to restrain trade. Antitrust law distinguishes between independent business decisions and coordinated anti-competitive behavior.
