Freedom of expression

A fundamental human right that encompasses the liberty to seek, receive, and impart information and ideas of all kinds, regardless of frontiers, either orally, in writing or in print, in the form of art, or through any other media. This right is protected in many international and national legal systems, including the First Amendment of the U.S. Constitution. It is not absolute and may be subject to certain restrictions, such as those against incitement to violence or defamation.
