Partial verdict
Term · Law · MLC-T-LAW-003633
A jury's decision that resolves some, but not all, of the counts or charges against a defendant in a criminal trial. This occurs when the jury reaches a unanimous agreement on one or more charges while remaining deadlocked on others. The court can accept the verdict on the resolved counts, and a mistrial is declared only for the remaining, undecided charges.
