Post-effective period

The time period after a registration statement for a securities offering has been declared effective by the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC). During this period, securities can be legally sold to the public, and prospectuses must be delivered to purchasers. Issuers and underwriters must continue to update the prospectus with any material changes.
