Posthumous child

A child born after the death of their father, or in some legal contexts, after the death of either parent. Such a child is generally considered an heir and has the same inheritance rights as if they had been born during the parent's lifetime. Laws regarding posthumous children vary by jurisdiction, particularly concerning children conceived through assisted reproductive technologies after a parent's death.
