Present recollection refreshed

A legal doctrine allowing a witness to review a document or item to jog their memory while testifying, even if the document itself is not admissible as evidence. The witness must state that their memory is refreshed and then testify from their own recollection, not merely read from the document. The opposing party typically has the right to inspect the refreshing material.
