Free alongside ship (FAS)

An Incoterm (International Commercial Term) where the seller delivers the goods alongside the vessel at the named port of shipment. The seller is responsible for all costs and risks until the goods are placed alongside the ship. The buyer then bears all costs and risks of loss or damage from that point forward, including loading the goods onto the vessel.
