Bimodal spectrum
Term · Meteorology and atmospheric science · MLC-T-MET-003911
A frequency distribution or spectrum that exhibits two distinct peaks or modes, indicating the presence of two dominant groups or processes within a dataset. In atmospheric science, this can refer to particle size distributions in aerosols or cloud droplets, where two different formation mechanisms might lead to two separate size ranges. For example, a bimodal aerosol distribution might show peaks for fine and coarse particles.
