Buoyancy wavenumber

Term · Meteorology and atmospheric science · MLC-T-MET-004089

A spatial frequency associated with buoyancy waves, representing the number of wave cycles per unit distance. It is inversely related to the wavelength of a buoyancy wave and is a key parameter in describing the spatial characteristics of these waves. This wavenumber is often used in spectral analysis of atmospheric and oceanic internal waves.
