Capacitance rain gauge

Term · Meteorology and atmospheric science · MLC-T-MET-004132

A type of rain gauge that measures precipitation by detecting changes in electrical capacitance as water accumulates. The device typically consists of two conductive plates or a dielectric material whose electrical properties change when exposed to water. This change is then converted into a measurement of rainfall depth, offering a continuous and automated recording method.
