Chloroform
Term · Meteorology and atmospheric science · MLC-T-MET-004288
A volatile organic compound with the chemical formula CHCl₃, which is a colorless, sweet-smelling liquid at room temperature. While primarily used as a solvent and in industrial processes, it is also a naturally occurring halocarbon that can be released into the atmosphere. Chloroform is considered a minor contributor to stratospheric ozone depletion due to its relatively short atmospheric lifetime.
