Methanol

The simplest alcohol, with the chemical formula CH₃OH, also known as methyl alcohol. It is released into the atmosphere from both natural sources, such as vegetation, and anthropogenic activities, including biomass burning and industrial processes. Methanol is a volatile organic compound that can participate in atmospheric photochemical reactions.
