Ozone-depleting potential
Term · Meteorology and atmospheric science · MLC-T-MET-007775
A relative measure of how much a given chemical compound is expected to deplete the stratospheric ozone layer, compared to the depletion caused by a similar mass of trichlorofluoromethane (CFC-11). It quantifies the destructive impact of a substance on the ozone layer over its atmospheric lifetime. CFC-11 has an ozone-depleting potential of 1.0 by definition.
