Methyl chloroform
Term · Meteorology and atmospheric science · MLC-T-MET-007266
A synthetic halogenated hydrocarbon with the chemical formula CH3CCl3, also known as 1,1,1-trichloroethane. It was widely used as a solvent and degreaser but is a potent ozone-depleting substance. Its production and consumption have been phased out under the Montreal Protocol due to its long atmospheric lifetime and high ozone depletion potential.
