Circular polarization
Term · Meteorology and atmospheric science · MLC-T-MET-004302
A type of electromagnetic wave polarization where the electric field vector at a fixed point in space rotates in a circle as a function of time. In radar meteorology, circularly polarized waves are sometimes transmitted to gain information about the shape and orientation of hydrometeors. The rotation can be either right-handed or left-handed.
