Convective mass flux

Term · Meteorology and atmospheric science · MLC-T-MET-004672

The rate at which mass is transported vertically by convective processes within the atmosphere, typically measured in kilograms per square meter per second. This flux represents the upward movement of warm, moist air and the downward movement of cooler, drier air within convective cells. It is a key parameter in understanding the vertical redistribution of heat and moisture in numerical models.
