Diffusion denuder technique
Term · Meteorology and atmospheric science · MLC-T-MET-005010
A method used to separate gaseous species from particulate matter in an air sample by exploiting their differing diffusion rates. Air is passed through a tube coated with a substance that absorbs the gas of interest, allowing particles to pass through largely unaffected. This technique is commonly employed in atmospheric chemistry for measuring aerosol composition and gas-phase concentrations.
