Dual-channel radar

Term · Meteorology and atmospheric science · MLC-T-MET-005174

A type of weather radar system that transmits and receives electromagnetic waves at two different frequencies or polarizations. This allows for the simultaneous measurement of different properties of precipitation, such as size, shape, and phase. Dual-polarization radar is a common example, providing improved discrimination between hydrometeor types.
