Earth tide
Term · Meteorology and atmospheric science · MLC-T-MET-005229
The deformation of the solid Earth caused by the gravitational forces of the Moon and Sun. These forces create bulges in the Earth's crust, similar to oceanic tides, but on a much smaller scale. Earth tides can influence precise geodetic measurements and are typically measured in centimeters.
