Equations of motion
Term · Meteorology and atmospheric science · MLC-T-MET-005411
A set of mathematical expressions that describe the acceleration of a fluid parcel in response to applied forces. These equations are derived from Newton's second law of motion and account for pressure gradient forces, Coriolis force, and friction. In atmospheric science, they are used to model atmospheric flow and predict weather patterns.
