Combustible geological deposits formed from the decomposed remains of ancient organisms, primarily plants and animals, over millions of years. These non-renewable energy sources include coal, petroleum, and natural gas. Their combustion releases carbon dioxide and other greenhouse gases into the atmosphere, contributing to climate change.
